Ever since 2014, high school basketball recruiting has seen the phenomenon called the “package deal” develop. It started with Duke recruits and now NBA players Tyus Jones and Jahlil Okafor make their college decision together – thus creating a package deal.
Now, Kentucky could be staring into a package deal heading to Lexington next season. Superstar high school F Zion Williamson and PG Immanuel Quickley have stated strongly they both want to be college teammates.
Williamson said this weekend that he hopes to commit before the start of his senior season at Spartanburg Day School in November. He also told reporters he’s interested in playing with five-star point guard Immanuel Quickley.
“That’s the real deal. I want to play with Immanuel Quickley when I go to college,” he said. “If he goes to Kentucky, then I’m going to look into Kentucky really hard.”
That would be an incredible tandem. Zion Williamson is a beast – but of course he will need a point guard that will throw him all of his SC top 10 lobs:
Enter 5 star PG Immanuel Quickley:
Quickly is a 6’3″ guard that would have the responsibility to run the floor with ZWill and make sure he is in stride. Not only that – but he is a scoring guard that can fill up the stat sheet. We will have to see if they end up committing to UK so we can see a whole lot of this:
