Every Single year we see a major NFL superstar go down in some meaningless minutes, in a meaningless preseason game. This years sacrifice to the fantasy football gods appeared to be Odell Beckham. The bigger question here may be why the heck Odell Beckham was still in the game, at this point in the 2nd quarter. Many starters only played a series or two across the NFL this past weekend. On top of it all, it was against the Browns.
“I don’t know. I’m pretty concerned,” he said with a smile, “but I think I’ll be all right.”
“Pretty Concerned” is strong language, especially when you factor in that most superstars will never tell reporters that they are in fact concerned.
He was later spotted on the sideline in street clothes. He appeared to be walking just fine.
This is huge considering how bad the initial hit appeared to be. The first thought for most Giants fans after seeing the (questionably) low hit, was “There goes his ACL/MCL”
Never the less, the Giants have avoided a huge blow to their chances this year, but are far from out of the woods. Mcadoo went on to say “If he can play, he’ll play,” McAdoo said. “I can’t answer that question right now.”
A lot to be determined, but with now less than 3 weeks until the Giants week 1 Sunday night football clash with the Cowboys, Odell should be considered very questionable.
