Every week I’ll do a different position. Today I start My QB rankings. Does your team need a QB. Let’s get started
1 Sam Darnold-USC
Darnold has size (6’4) arm strength and makes plays. He goes through progressions well, he also creates torque from his hips. He plays well under pressure and frequently shows the ability to extend plays. Darnold has had a spike in INT this year but I’m not concerned. Darnold will probably be the 1st pick in 2018.
2 Josh Rosen-UCLA
Rosen has a quick smooth throwing motion, good footwork especially when he moves out of the pocket. Sometimes gets careless with ball when scrambling, tends to force ball into covered receivers. I think he is 2nd best QB in draft but the gap from 1-2 is bigger than the gap from 2-3.
3 Josh Allen-Wyoming
Allen (6’5) is pro style QB with quick feet, with an explosive release. I wish he played on a better team. He has a very high ceiling, I see him as a guy drafted around 10 to a team that has a vet QB with 1-2 years left so LA Chargers, NY Giants or Arizona are some possibilities.
4 Mason Rudolph-Oklahoma State
Rudolph has put up points at OKST. I’ve seen him make decision that I question. Good accuracy steps up in the pocket. I put him 4th but Luke Falk is close
5 Luke Falk-Washington state
This kid can throw, numbers are insane air raid system makes him scan the whole field, he also has elite poise in the pocket. Arm strength has be questioned and the track record of air raid QBs could have him go on day 2 of the draft. He will probably sit a year or 2 if a contender drafts him for the future.
6 Lamar Jackson- Louisville
I have serious doubts about Jackson’s NFL potential. When I watch him play I see him stare down receivers far to often, when his first read isn’t their he tucks and runs. Running QBs don’t have a great track record ether, before this year I’d say Cam Newton was the exception but the panthers now have concerns he is breaking down. Great athlete but not a 1st round QB hell late 2nd early 3rd game in my opinion.
7 Logan Woodside-Toledo
A 4 year starter at Toledo, has lit it up. 11-1 TD to int ratio to start the 2017 season. His feet move a bit to much which is fixable. Arm strength not an issue pro style offense I’ll give him a 3rd-4th round grade
Honorable mentions Baker Mayfield-Oklahoma Jake Browning-Washington Bryan Schor- James Madison
