Philadelphia Eagles Contenders Or Pretenders

As of right now the Philadelphia Eagles have the best record in the NFL through 9 games. That’s right the Philadelphia Eagles a team that wasn’t wildly considered a playoff team holds the leagues best record. The Eagles only got better by adding Jay Ajayi for a fourth round draft pick. Now they’ve made it this far so now we must ask ourselves are the Eagles contenders or pretenders.

The Eagles appear to be unstoppable right now as they have won 7 straight games with Carson Wentz looking like an MVP candidate. Their only blemish on the year is a 7 point loss in Kansas City all the way back in week 2. They have a point differential of +104 which is second behind only the Los Angles Rams. The Eagles put up 51 points on the Denver defense last week they scored so many points that the stadium ran out of fireworks for their celebrations. While their offense has been great this year their defense has snagged 11 interceptions which is 3rd in the league.

The Eagles can throw the ball, they can run the ball, and they can take the ball away that certainly seems like a recipe for January success. So to answer my own question I do think the Eagles are contenders and I do think that they could go to the Super Bowl this year. Now that being said can they beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl that is an entirely different question. The Eagles certainly have a shot the Pats aren’t unbeatable but there certainly close to it. The Eagles high octane offense vs Tom Brady is certainly a matchup I’m looking forward to watching. Although imagine if somehow Pittsburgh snuck in and Pittsburgh vs Philadelphia in the Super Bowl it won’t happen but hey a man can dream.

Andrew Luck Will Be Back And Better Than Ever

Andrew Luck’s status has been changing all year we’ve gone from ready by training camp to ready by week one to season ending IR. Now people are speculating that his career is possibly over Jim Irsay even said it’s all in his head. Of course Irsay blaming it on doctors and even Luck himself is Irsay language for I lied to our fans so they’d buy tickets now I have to cover my ass.

Andrew Luck is still recovering from a surgery that usually takes 9-12 months to recover from. As far as I’m concerned there’s no rush for Luck to come back this season his top priority should be getting healthy. Remember he had 4,000+ yards 31tds last season and the was with a torn fucking labrum imagine how good he’s gonna be when he’s fully healthy. The Colts this season are a living example of just how valuable Andrew Luck is to the Colts. The Colts have more problems than Luck’s health.

Their roster is not that good and that is where Chris Ballard comes into play. Chris Ballard has already proven just how good he is bringing in a terrific draft class last April headlined by Malik Hooker. The Colts will most likely have a top 5 draft pick since they probably won’t be winning many more games this season. Possible people they could select are CB Minkah Fitzpatrick, OLB Bradley Chubb, or OG Mike McGlinchey. The O-Line has struggled in recent years but realistically they’re just a linemen or two away from having a good o-line. They already have 3 young talented linemen in Ryan Kelly, Jack Mewhort, and Joe Haeg. All the Colts have to do from there is just get one more piece to the puzzle.

Now all they need to do is clean house with the coaching staff I mean fire everyone there all bums. I’ve already expressed my displeasure with Chuck Pagano in a previous article and the rest of them are no better. If they can combine a healthy Andrew Luck and an actual coaching staff and a younger more improved roster the Colts can become a very dangerous team. Now that Luck is not gonna play this season he can get healthy get ready by next years training camp and go back to doing what he does best proving the haters and critics wrong. If only they could get rid of Jim Irsay.

This Has Been One Of The Wildest Seasons In NFL History

We are 9 weeks into the NFL season and I don’t know how to describe what’s going on this year. The Jets look decent, the Jags are actually good, the Raiders are bad, the Giants went from title contenders to number one overall pick contenders and Falcons are blowing lead after lead at least that’s still normal.

There’s even more madness going on the Rams are currently the number one rated offense you heard me correctly the Rams. The Eagles look like Super Bowl contenders and Carson Wentz looks like an MVP. If the season ended today the Jags, Rams, and Bills would be playoff teams. Meanwhile the Seahawks, Falcons, Packers, Raiders, and Giants would be on the outside looking in. 5 of the 6 NFC playoff teams as of right now missed the postseason all together last year. Last week there not one, not two, but three fights most notably between Jalen Ramsey and A.J. Green. What a match of year candidate that was with Green murdering Ramsey and then Ramsey proceeding to call Green soft and weak afterward.

Continuing with the madness Jim Irsay isn’t even the worst owner in his division anymore thanks to Bob McNair. Andrew Luck has gone from ready by training camp to ready by week 1 to out for season to possibly out for career. Now Irsay is pinning on everyone he can like doctors and even Luck himself. Jared Goff went from complete bust to new and improved star. Deshaun Watson went from backup to star in just a couple of weeks and now he finds himself on IR along with the Texans playoff hopes. Ezekiel Elliot has gone back and forth between suspended and not being suspended. His suspension was delayed last time because the judge was working the case was on vacation.
The 0-8 Browns may not even be not even be bad enough to land the number one overall same goes for the 0-9ers aka the 49ers. The mighty Denver Broncos defense just let up 51 points while the Jaguars have held opponents to single digits five times. JuJu Smith-Schuster has somehow become the star of an offense featuring Antonio Brown, Le’Veon Bell, Martavis Bryant, and Big Ben. Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck, David Johnson, JJ Watt, Deshaun Watson, Eric Berry and may more stars are all on IR. Even the Bucs who most people thought could make the playoffs are a lowly 2-6. Whatever you thought would happen this season whatever this season was supposed to be the opposite has happened. This isn’t even the NFL anymore this is the Bizaro NFL we’re seeing it play out in front of our very eyes.
